FAQs

What causes dull skin?

Dullness is usually three things happening at the same time. Dead cells build up on the surface and scatter light instead of reflecting it. The skin is dehydrated, so it loses its bounce and clarity. And oxidation — from sun, pollution and everyday stress — leaves the complexion looking grey and tired. Age adds a fourth layer: cell renewal slows down, so that surface build-up stays longer. This is why a single brightening product rarely fixes it. Dull skin needs resurfacing, hydration and antioxidant protection working together.

Is dull skin the same as dark spots?

No, though they often appear together. Dullness is an overall loss of light and clarity across the whole face. Dark spots are concentrated patches of pigment in specific areas. They are related — both are linked to oxidation — and many of the same botanical actives help with both. If your main concern is defined patches rather than a general lack of glow, start with our Hyperpigmentation collection instead.

How do I know which product is right for me?

This is exactly what our Skin Test is for. Instead of telling you what our products do and leaving you to guess, we start with your skin: your type, your tendency, your age, the season you are in, and whether your skin is sensitive. It takes two minutes, and you receive a personalised recommendation of no more than three products. We don't sell, we help.

How long does it take to see a difference?

Most people notice a visible difference within 7 to 10 days — skin looks clearer, more even and reflects light better. Deeper concerns like pigmentation take longer, because your skin needs a full renewal cycle of around a month to show real change, and often two to three months for the most stubborn discolouration. Consistency matters far more than the number of products you use.

Which ingredients help with dull skin?

We work with botanical actives — active compounds drawn from herbs rather than built in a lab. For dullness that means vitamin C and curcumin for antioxidant protection and brightness, mandelic acid for gentle resurfacing, naturally derived vitamin A for light exfoliation and renewal, and hyaluronic acid to restore the hydration that dull skin is almost always missing. Our herbs come from the Olympus region of Greece, where the climate pushes each plant to develop an unusually rich concentration of actives. We use the whole herb rather than a single isolated extract, then pair it with our own absorption technology so those actives reach the deeper layers of the skin. Every ingredient we use is published in full on each product page.

Should my routine for dull skin change with the season?

Yes — this is central to how we formulate. Your skin's underlying tendency stays the same all year, but what it needs changes completely. In summer, skin needs lighter textures, daily antioxidant protection and serums that hydrate without heaviness. In winter, low temperatures and indoor heating make dullness and dehydration far more visible, so we shift towards deeper exfoliation, richer hydration and our strongest night treatments. Winter is the regeneration window — the best time of year to work on brightness and renewal.

Can I use brightening products if my skin is sensitive or reactive?

Yes. Sensitivity is a condition, not a skin type, so we treat it separately rather than assuming it rules out active ingredients. Our founder Chrysanthi created these formulas for her own reactive, barrier-compromised skin, after years of finding nothing on the market that worked without causing a reaction. Every formula is made in our own lab with pharmaceutical-grade rigour and clinically tested for safety. All are free from parabens, sulfates and PEGs, contain zero alcohol, and are cruelty-free. If your skin is reactive, tell us in the Skin Test and we will only recommend products suited to it.
