FAQs

What is the Acne & Blemishes collection?

It's our edit for skin that breaks out: purifying cleansers, targeted treatments for individual blemishes, and light creams that calm redness while keeping the skin hydrated. Every formula combines Greek botanical actives with pharmaceutical-grade formulation, and each one is made in our own lab in small batches. The goal is not to strip your skin into submission — it's to bring it back into balance so it stops overproducing oil in the first place.

What actually causes breakouts and clogged pores?

Congestion happens when excess oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria collect inside the pore and the skin responds with inflammation. What most people don't expect is that a damaged barrier makes it worse: when the outer layer is compromised — often by harsh, drying acne products — the skin produces even more oil to compensate. That's why our founder built this collection around calming and rebuilding rather than stripping. Her own skin was oily, reactive, and prone to clogged pores, and nothing on the market treated both problems at once.

How do I know which products are right for my skin?

Take the Skin Test. Most brands tell you what a product does and leave you to work out whether you need it; we prefer to find the need first. The test reads five things — your skin type, its tendency, your age, your sensitivity, and the current season — and returns a personalised three-step routine. Three products, not seven. If you'd rather browse, start with a cleanser, one targeted treatment, and one light hydrator.

Are these products safe for sensitive or reactive skin?

Yes. Sensitivity is a condition rather than a skin type, and it's the condition our founder formulates for first — her own skin is reactive with a compromised barrier. Every formula is clinically tested for safety, made without parabens, sulfates, PEGs, or alcohol, and every ingredient is published in full on the product page. If your skin is both blemish-prone and reactive, the Skin Test will weight your recommendation accordingly.

How long before I see a difference?

Our formulas are developed to show a visible difference in 10 days — less shine, calmer redness, and fewer new blemishes appearing. Existing marks and post-blemish discolouration take longer, because they sit deeper and fade as the skin renews. The most important thing is consistency: acne-prone skin responds to a steady routine, not to a new product every fortnight.

My skin is oily. Do I still need to hydrate it?

Yes — and skipping this step is the most common mistake we see. Oily skin is very often dehydrated skin underneath, and dehydration is one of the three tendencies we test for. When the skin is short of water it compensates with more oil, and the cycle continues. Our creams for blemish-prone skin are light, fast-absorbing, and formulated to hydrate without adding congestion.

Does my routine need to change through the year?

It does. Skin behaves differently in summer heat and humidity than it does in winter cold and indoor heating, and a routine that suited you in July can be too light by January. In the warmer months, blemish-prone skin usually needs lighter textures and more targeted treatment; in the colder months it needs gentle exfoliation and deeper hydration to keep pores clear while the barrier is under pressure. The Skin Test asks for the season for exactly this reason.
